Susan/Sean Bryant-Nelson, MSSW

Certified AAIT™ practitioner

Post-Graduate Trauma Certificate

As a non-binary parent of a multi-racial family, I understand the complexities of being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, of parenting racially diverse children, and have extensive knowledge of grief and trauma, especially related to the search for spirituality.  I welcome and appreciate clients of all ages, races, ethnicities, religions, nationalities, genders, sexual orientations and social groups dealing with everyday issues that create and maintain suffering.

I received my MSSW from the University of Tennessee in 1998. I have over 23 years of experience working with adults, children and families in numerous capacities in social work, from hospice care to therapeutic foster care.

Most importantly, I have been where you are right now-
wanting to understand myself better, desiring to feel peace, hoping to create changes in myself and my relationships that could truly make me feel happy and fulfilled. I experienced so much progress in such little time personally with AAIT™ that I decided to undergo the comprehensive training that would allow me to guide others in the work as a Certified AAIT™ Practitioner. The practice of AAIT™ has become a lifestyle that continues to lead my life in a positive direction.

If you feel like you don’t quite fit in, can’t accept the mold that society has assigned to you, or want to discover your true self and find a way to stand in your own truth, I am your guide.

I have always found solace in the mountains where I grew up. I enjoy hiking and have uncovered many answers in the silence of nature.

I invite you to check out the rest of my website and join me in partnership on the journey to self-acceptance, to uncover and live as your true self, and to fully step into your life purpose.

What People Are Saying

Susan is open and accepting while strong and confident. She is easy to work with. In leading me through AAIT™ processes, I have the sense she absolutely knows what she’s doing with warmth and badassery.

— Mother of Young Adult Children

Susan has a one in a million spirit to her that so few therapists can offer their clients. Although she exudes warmth, and genuine laughter comes easy to her, there’s also an unshakeable trust that she is grounded and unafraid through the darkness. She gets it. She has guided me through problems with ease, but even better, helped me to reach personal goals I’ve yearned to achieve for so long. I feel so grateful to have connected with her.

—Woman in Relationship

Susan is able to meet you exactly where you are. Your starting point is individual to you only.

— Member LGBTQIA+ Community

One of the most powerful experiences with AAIT™ is that making small changes in one area of life today can often have a ripple effect on other areas of life that you may not expect.

Small changes. Big effects. — Ripple in Still Waters… Jerry Garcia
